COMMUNITY MENTORING PARTNERSHIP

teacherfrontThe CommUNITY Mentoring Partnership and the SAVVY (Supportive Adults Valuing & Validating Youth) Program exist to unite caring adult mentors, existing mentoring groups, and emerging mentoring groups with minority youth and those youth identified as at risk in Queen Anne's County.

Mentors offer one-on-one interaction with at-risk youth in grades 6-10. The pairs meet at least once each week for one hour, spending time both at school and in the community with hopes of achieving:

Increased academic performance.

Increased self-esteem.

Increased awareness and modeling of socially acceptable behaviors.

Expanded goals for lifetime achievement.

Increased cultural awareness.

ADDITIONAL MENTORS ARE STILL NEEDED ...

We are looking for caring and supportive adults to be a part of the mentoring program for the 2011-2012 school year.

Our goal is to mentor both during the school day and out in the community.

Mentors will agree to meeting with their mentees on a weekly basis for at least 1 hour.

These mentoring moments help youth make better decisions that affect their lives and will empower them to fulfill their dreams.
