WELCOME!
The Queen Anne's County Character Counts! Program has now joined forces with the CommUNITY Mentoring Partnership and the Assets Action Team to have the largest possible impact on the youth of Queen Anne's County.
All children and youth need caring, supportive adults in their lives in order to become responsible, productive citizens in their community.
The CC! Advisory Council believes in using a four-step model to help build citizens of character. This involves a volunteer force of character coaches in the classroom, countless role models in the community, an intergenerational Assets Action Team, and one-on-one mentors all interacting with students on a regular basis.
It takes a caring, supportive community to raise children and youth of character. Be involved!

COMMUNITY MENTORING PARTNERSHIP:
The CommUNITY Mentoring Partnership establishes enriching relationships between our greatest resources (mentors) and our greatest assets (mentees).
Mentors offer one-on-one interaction with at-risk youth in grades 6-10. The pairs meet at least once each week for one hour, spending time at school and out in the community, with hopes of achieving:
- Increased academic performance.
- Increased self-esteem.
- Increased awareness and modeling of socially acceptable behaviors.
- Expanded goals for lifetime achievement.
- Increased cultural awareness.
ASSETS ACTION TEAM
The Assets Action Team in Queen Anne's County is comprised of Middle School Students, High School Students, and Adults from the community. The primary focus - the Ready by 21 Initiative - is to ensure that all students are ready for further education or the workforce by the age of 21. It is important for all youth to have the proper skills, both in academics and life, to be contributing members of their families and communities.
